The first thing we ponder upon while
buying a makeup brush is its quality. Sanitizing and cleaning the makeup brushes is as important as
choosing the right brand because you can’t imagine how much gunk can get into
them. There are ample videos and tutorials all over the internet to get the job
done but the most effective ways and the ones that won’t burn a whole in your
pocket will be listed here. So, cleaning the makeup brushes may not necessarily
seem to be a very glamorous job at first but imagine the dirt on the bristles
clinging to your skin and leading to unavoidable skin problems like breakouts
and clogged pores. No girl would want that. So, jot down these easy life hacks
to your Sunday “To Do” and make your makeup brushes last longer.
Cleaning your brushes with baby shampoo
Baby shampoos are mild and chemical free, hence washing your makeup brushes with baby
shampoo is pretty painless and easy. Run your brushes in lukewarm water for
about a minute. Let the dirt of all the creamy base, blushers and press powder
go away. Then, go on and take a pea size amount of baby shampoo in your palm and rub it into your brush for a while.
Rinse your brush again under lukewarm water (read: rinse your brushes upside
down so that they do not lose their shape and the glue keeping the handle
attached to the bristles doesn’t run out). If the water that is released
continues to be dirty, repeat the process. Now, use a soft cloth or paper towel
to dry off the bristles and lay your brushes flat on a towel to dry them
overnight.
Cleaning brushes with oil
Fold a paper towel and pour a few drops of oil into it. Gently move your brush on the paper towel, do not wrap your brush into the towel just move your brush back and forth causing it to get rid of all the cakey matter. Run your brush in lukewarm water (F.Y.I: do not wash your brushes with hot water as it would lead to the weakening of the bristles). Rinse your brush until it loses all the dirt, dry your brush with a paper towel and the lay them flat on a cloth or towel overnight to let it dry.
