How To Choose The Right Lipstick For You

Lipstick is one of the first and the foremost thing that comes to mind when we think about makeup and there is no doubt on the fact that adding colour to the lips can make big difference to the features of your face. A poorly chosen shade of lipstick can easily ruin your whole look.

Well, this is all about finding a perfect lipstick to match your skin tone. This is the time of the year to get all your bold lipsticks out and it can be a little bit daunting when you don’t know the right shade for yourself. And we are here to help you find a perfect shade that you can wear your bold lipsticks with a lot of confidence.
So, let’s take a quick three-step undertone test to figure out what lipstick would work best for your skin tone:
1.       Understanding the different types of skin undertones
So, if your skin is warmer toned, it would have yellow undertones to it. If your skin is cooler-toned then it would have pink undertones to it. And if your skin is neutral, it would basically be a perfect balance of both. Hence,
Warm toned skin = Yellow undertones and,
Cool toned skin = Pink undertones

2.       Identifying your skin tone
The first step in selecting a right lipstick colour is determining what skin tone you have. There are five main types of skin complexion which are fair, light, medium, tan and deep. So, the perfect way to do that is to take a look at your wrist. Now, if your veins appear green then you are in the warmly toned spectrum and if your veins appear blue then you are in the cool-toned spectrum. If you can’t really identify whether your veins look green or blue then you are one of the lucky ones who fall under the neutrally toned spectrum. In short,
Warm toned skin = Green veins and,
Cool toned skin = Blue veins

3.       Matching your lip colour to your skin tone
If you are warm skin toned then you would need a lipstick with more orange undertones to it since your skin has yellow undertones. Shades like Burgundy, a Maroon or a deep red would work perfectly for you.
For all those of you with cool or pink skin tones, you can opt for shades that have blue undertones to them like oxblood, purples, wines or deep plum shades.
As for those of you who have the neutral skin tone, you are one of the lucky ones who can wear any lipstick you want.

4.        Size of the Lips
If you have thin lips, our advice to you would be to avoid dark and flashy lipstick colours as these colours are going to make your lips look even thinner, try putting on glossy and creamy lipsticks or if you have plump lips then our advice to you is to avoid applying lipstick shades that are too light and glossy.
5.       Eye colour
For Blue eyes: different shades of cherry or scarlet colours, For Brown eyes: bright reds, browns, and light pinks, For Grey eyes: nudes and plum colours and for Green eyes: terracotta, pinks suits the best.

6.       Hair colour
If you have:
·         Dark hair, fair and light skin: bright pink, cherry, scarlet and plum colours
·         Blond hair, tan and deep skin: caramel, ochre, warm pinks, and “salmon” pink
·         Brown hair, medium skin: beige, “salmon” pink, corals, and deep dusty pinks
·         Blond hair, fair and light skin: dusty pink, purple pink, light pink, and scarlet colours
·         Red hair, fair skin: “salmon” pink, corals, terracotta, and burnt sienna
·         Dark hair, tan and deep skin: golden beige, ochre, terracotta, and bronze colours

7.       Teeth Color
Women with white teeth: Congratulations! You can wear any colour
Women with yellow teeth: We would highly advise you to wear slightly orange and light red colours. Don’t forget to avoid browns, purples, bright scarlet and red shades
Now that you know how to choose the perfect lipstick colour for yourself, flaunt your lips by choosing wisely. Go and impress!!

Best Skin-care Products You Can Buy

There are a lot of skin care products in the market. However, a lot of them go unnoticed by the average person because they have a very niche purpose. But, that doesn’t mean they don’t have an effect on your beauty. Some of these products can have a major impact on your look and should be tried out at least once. Some of these may be expensive, but they’re definitely worth it-

1.     Cleanser: Cleansing is an essential step in your skincare routine. It is the first thing you should apply to your face before any other beauty product. Cleansers dissolve any impurities like grime, makeup, dirt, etc. from your face than you accumulate throughout the day. Different skin types require different types of cleansers. There are various types of cleansers available in the market for dry skin, oily skin, etc.

2.     Eye Cream: The delicate area around your eyes needs special care. Invest in specially designed eye creams to provide protection and care to your eyelids and the surrounding area. Dark circles are a big headache, especially after a long fun night of clubbing or partying. There are certain eye creams which are for applying in the morning and ones which are to be used at night before going to sleep. Choose the one which suits your needs.

3.     Acne Mask: Acne is a major concern for anyone. Acne can pop out anytime and anywhere and if not handled properly, they can ruin your look for days. Most of the face washes can only help you as much. Use a pore- purifying acne mask for best results. It’s not painful like extractions and usually, you only need to keep it applied for a minute or two.

4.     If your skin’s been looking dull or you suddenly find a few dark spots popping on the surface, you might want to add a brightening face mask to your routine. Brightening masks are mainly for brightening your skin as the name suggests, but it can also help with a lot of skin problems like dark spots, dullness, etc. Invest in a good one for noticeable results.

5.     Skin Exfoliator: The tip to beautiful skin is exfoliating. Having a good exfoliating routine is the key to the smooth and glowing skin. This is the process of removing the dead skin cells from the body, so your newer, fresher skin cells are left at the top. Your skin feels smoother and looks much more radiant than it did just before. You’ll also find that it can clear the pores of all the dirt and oils much easier, so you’re left with cleaner skin ready for your day or night ahead.

How To Pick Right Shade Of Lipstick That Match Your Skin

Do you apply lipstick? If you’re up to date with fashion trends or just like to try different looks, there is a good chance you do. Choosing the right color can be the difference between a great look and an average look which most of the people do wrong but is not that difficult once you realize how to do it. Hence, here are some tips you should definitely try for choosing the right lipstick shade for your skin tone-

1.     Determine your Skin Tone: The first step to choosing the right lipstick shade is to first determine your own skin tone correctly. People are often not able to figure out how to determine their skin tone. For this, there are majorly 5 types of skin tones in which you can categorize your skin tone; fair, light, medium, tan and deep. This is where you start.

2.     If you have fair or light skin, try light pink, coral, peach, nudes, or beige. If you have cool undertones, try a soft mocha and nude. Warm undertones, try pale pinks or a nude with a little peach. If you have medium skin, try rose, mauve, or berry shades. Cool undertones: try shades of pink or cranberry. Warm undertones: experiment with copper or bronze. If you have tan skin, try to avoid browns and purples and go for colors with an orange undertone. Most other colors will look great. Try coral or deep pink. If you have a deep complexion, try browns or purples like walnut, caramel, plum, or wine. Cool undertones should look for ruby and wine-colored reds. Warm undertones: try copper or bronze.

3.     Focus on your lip color: The best shades of lipstick are the ones which are one or two shades darker than your natural lip color. Choose a shade which looks good on you even when you have no make-up on. That’s how you choose a good shade. You can try that out by applying the lipstick on only one lip first and checking if it is, in fact, one or two shades darker than the other lip.

4.     Apply darker shade to lower lip: Most of the times, it is better to apply the darker shade only to the lower lip as long as you’d like to keep it subtle and not make any bold statements. A shade darker on the lower lip will make the color pop out and make a good contrast with your skin tone.

5.     Lip size is important too: Do you have thick or thin lips? The thickness of your lips is very important too in determining the right shade. If you have thick lips, choose a lighter shade than you’d usually think is right for you. Lighter shades make your lips look plump. And if you have thick lips, choose a darker shade as darker shades make your lips look thinner than they actually are.
